The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians

The Third Chapter of the Second letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians

¹  Finally, brothers and sisters, pray for us, so that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified everywhere, just as it is among you, ² and that we may be rescued from wicked and evil people; for not all have faith.

Oh God my Father, the wish of St. Paul that Your gospel be spread among the whole world is also my wish. Throughout the years this blog containing the messages that You give me in prayer over the Bible, has reached many people from different countries and nations. I pray that all who have received it will be motivated to like myself, trust in You and in faith and with Your help,  try to root out our evil selves. Speaking also for myself this is a daily task, for I still consider myself as being works in progress, but I have faith that one day the works will be finalised and that We could proudly declare that the race has ended, and that we are worthy to receive the prize. Amen. Thank You Jesus.

³ But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verse 3)

Oh God my Father I praise and raise Your name for You are my true and only love. It is true that when I am acting from the spirit I am a fountain of strength and courage and a source of faith to all, however when I act from the flesh i am not worth a shilling or a euro cent for I am speaking and acting from the world. I pray that You guard and protect me against such moments my God and Father for my strength is in You and not in the ways of the world Amen.

⁴ And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will go on doing the things that we command. ⁵ May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verses 4 to 5)

Oh God my Father may Your confidence in me never fail that at least I have the intention of walking in Your ways, even though at times I do not remain fully consistent. I am human oh God and have not yet mastered full control over myself. I pray that You help me in controlling and managing my sinful self so that I can continue to walk in Your ways even though I am weak and prone to sin.

⁶ Now we command you, beloved, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from believers who are living in idleness and not according to the tradition that they received from us.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verse 6)

Oh God my Father I pray that You protect and preserve us from fellow Roman Catholics and Catholics who give the appearance that they are living what they believe but indirectly they project a message that is against what You have taught us in the message of the Good News. May we all be aware of ourselves, so that we never project such messages to others amen.

⁷ For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us; we were not idle when we were with you, ⁸ and we did not eat anyone's bread without paying for it; but with toil and labor we worked night and day, so that we might not burden any of you.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verses 7 to 8)

Oh God my Father I pray for all migrants and refugees who are many times perceived as being a burden on society. In truth such people wish to work and cater for their own needs. I pray that You give them the necessary opportunities for them to be productive and maybe one day such people will be freed from this label Amen.

⁹ This was not because we do not have that right, but in order to give you an example to imitate.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verse 9)

Oh God my Father, I pray that with Your help I be a good example to others, so they can also follow in Your ways Amen.

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we gave you this command; Anyone unwilling to work should not eat.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verse 10)

Oh God, my beloved Father, this command is not to be applied only in one specific area of the natural world, but also in the spiritual realm. As believers, we also have work to do in the spreading of Your Word among others especially those who either have not heard about Your or maybe are not yet fully convinced. It is our duty as farmhands or labourers hired in Your kingdom to do our work in Your name so that we be entitled to share from the sacrifice of Your body Amen. We all have God-given roles to accomplish regardless if we are Roman Catholics, Protestants or believers from other beliefs. At heart we believe in the same one God even though we address him by different names and worship Him in different ways. Amen

¹¹ For we hear that some of you are living in idleness, mere busybodies, not doing any work. ¹² Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. ¹³ Brothers and sisters, do not be weary in doing is right.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verse 11)

Oh God my beloved Father, as I have experienced in my life, there are those who do the work, and there are those who take it easy and profit from the works of others. I pray for equality in the distribution of work and that we all dilligently perform the works that You have assigned to us. Oh God I pray that You help me out in my current situation Amen.

¹² Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verse 12)

Oh God my beloved Father, if we all had to earn our living in an honest way, without much pomp so that our work outstands that of others there would be much peace in the world. If our politicians would be more the working quiet type instead of attacking each other many people would benefit from their honest work. Today is the election day and many people are voting for the prosepctive candidates, however throughout the campagn we have heard many statements of what one leader did not do and vice versa instead of what both leaders did positively for the good of all. I pray oh God that You teach us to learn to live an honest living  instead of one domianted by corruption Amen

¹³ Brothers and sisters, do not be weary in doing what is right. ¹⁴ Take note of those who do not obey what we say in this letter; have nothing to do with them, so that they may be ashamed. ¹⁵ Do not regard them as enemies, but warn them as believers.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verses 13 to 15)

Oh all readers of this blog and all people who have a relationshp with God our beloved Father, we all know that it is very challenging for us to do what is right, for our sinful nature challenges us and it is not always easy to go against ourselves, however with Your help oh God my Father we can overcome our sinful selves. It is time to make a decision to love those who do not approve of what we believe in as Christians and Roman Catholics, however on the other hand we are to be careful not to copy the ways of unbeleivers or people of different religions or even Roman Catholics like ourselves who say that they believe in You but in practice they do not. Amen.

¹⁶ Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with all of you. ¹⁷ I Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. This is the mark in every letter of mine; it is the way I write. ¹⁸ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.

(The Third Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians verses 16 to 18)

Oh Friends, brothers and sisters how encouraging it would be if in all our emails or messages we include such positive blessings to each other. We would be  a blessing to others, and others will keep on knowing us by means of such blessing and the Word of God will continue to spread Amen

Oh  God my Father I would like to end this chapter with the following prayer:-

Teach us how to live in this world oh God my Father, without being a part of it. Please  help me to master control over my sinful self, so that I will be free to live a life of praise and worship with no carnal or psychological restrictions. I pray for freedom from my sinful nature, so that I can be totally Yours. I pray that You heal and free me from anything and anyone that has nothing to do with You Amen. Thank You Jesus

The Second Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessaloninans

The Second Chapter of the Second letter of

St. Paul to the Thessalonians

Chapter 2

1. As to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we beg you, brothers and sisters, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as though from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here, 3. Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one destined for destruction.

(The second letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 2 verses 1 to 3)

Oh God my Father I thank You for reminding us that we are not to be gullible in relation to the day or hour or circumstance that will indicate Your second and final visit. Many have formed theories, however, we are to follow Your Word and not hearsay Amen.

4. He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God.

(The second letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 2 verses 4)

Oh God my Father the message  or messages found in the Bible makes us aware of things that happened in the past and also of things that will happen in the future. In such setting or scenario, the apostle may be referring to events in time that may actually take place in the present time. By means of the Holy Spirit of God, the apostle Paul spoke about how the evil spirit of lawlessness and rebellion can claim dominion over a particular world ruler so much as to give him power as 'World dominator' and even hinder us from believing in God, due to the fact that this person would want praise and worship to himself. I pray oh God my Father that we remain firm when such negative events take place Amen.

5. Do you not remember that I told you these things when I was still with you? 6. And you know what is now restraining him, so that he may be revealed when his time comes. 7. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but only until the one who now restrains it is removed.

(The second letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 2 verses 5  to 7)

Oh God my Father You have control over the evil spirit of Satan. There will come a time when Satan will be set loose for the final battle leading to the end of times. At times I feel that this evil spirit is already loose. I pray for Your protection Amen.

8. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will destroy with the breath of his mouth, annihilating him by the manifestation of his coming. 9. The coming of the lawless one is apparent in the working of Satan, who uses all power, signs, lying wonders, 10. and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11. For this
reason God sends them a powerful delusion, leading them to believe what is false, 12. so that all who have not believed the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness will be condemned.

(The second letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 2 verses 8  to 12)

Oh God my Father when looking at events that are taking place in the world, I start thinking that the lawless one is already doing much damage to humanity. Certain important decisions that have been taken on reflection can easily be concluded as having been under the influence of the evil one, for the outcome of such decisions has been almost catastrophic. However when the time comes You are going to reveal the lawless person and destroy him or it as an evil spirit once and for all. Amen. The victory is Yours, my God and Father.

13. But we must always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the first fruits for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14. For this
purpose he called you through our proclamation of the good news, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15. So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by our letter.

(The second letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 2 verses 13  to 15)

Oh God, my Father even though I was not among the first to receive the message of the 'Good News' I thank You for having sent St. Paul to Malta to preach the Good News. I also thank You for giving me a personal call that is to follow You and share Your Word with others. I thank You for calling me to be holy like You. I pray that You empower me to be strong and help others whom You send me to walk in Your ways. Amen.

16. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope, 17. comfort your hearts and strengthen them in every good work and word.

(The second letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 2 verses 16  to 17)

Oh God, my Father this particular message is very encouraging especially today when I will do my first assessment at my new job. I pray that You give me the skills and knowledge to do the assessment and cover all the areas of need in order to be of help to my clients. I pray for Your empowerment because I am feeling a bit scared and insecure about it, even though I know that You are with me and will never abandon me Amen.

Oh God, my Father I would like to thank You for using me in different circumstances and for helping me grow in different areas of my life even though I am 45 years old, which means that I am of a mature age, however, growth in You is never ending.

I would like to end this chapter with the following prayer:-

Oh God, my Father I thank You for all that You have done for me, with me and by means of me. I pray that You keep on protecting me from the forces of evil that will stop at nothing from putting me under unnecessary stress that leads me to lose control over myself and sin against You. I pray for Your protection my God and Father. I pray that You be like a wall of fire, that protects me from all sides and angles Amen.

Thank
 You Jesus

The First Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians

The First Chapter of The Second Letter of

St. Paul to the Thessalonians

Chapter 1

1. Paul Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

(The First Chapter of the Second letter of St.Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 1 verse 1)

Oh God my Father if we were to do or offer everything we did to You, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, how nice would it be for us, to obtain Your blessing. I would feel more secure on feeling that what I am doing has Your approval and benediction Amen.

2. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

(
The First Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 1 verse 2)

Oh God my Father how great is the gift of peace, and how nice it is to bless each other as You bless us. How nice it is even as a family to bless each other in Your Name even before we go to work. How secure it is to leave the family under Your protection Amen.

3. We must always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of everyone of you for one another is increasing.

(The First Chapter of the Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 1 verse 3)

Oh God, my Father we are a gift to You to ourselves and also to each other, our lives would not be the same if we did not exist in each other's lives. Even though we may not always on good terms with others they are still gifts for us especially chosen by You, my God that are essential for our salvation Amen.

4. Therefore we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith during all your persecutions and the afflictions that you are enduring.

(The First Chapter of the  Second letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 1 verse 4)

Oh God, the world  boasts of intelligent people who make a name for themselves or for the family or the company that they work for, however, humble people do not attract the same attention. Oh, that I may also be accounted with this group and not be popular in the eyes of humanity Amen.

5. This is the evidence of the righteous judgment of God, and is intended to make you worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering.

(The First Chapter of the  Second Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 1 verse 5)

Oh God my Father today You are teaching me that suffering has a meaning and that it is not in vain. All our persecutions and tribulations in life make, us more worthy of the Kingdom of God which is my aim in life Amen, therefore I thank you for each and every one of them, my God and Father.

6. For it is indeed just of God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7. and to give relief to the afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels 8. in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

(The First Chapter of the  Second Letter of St.Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 1 verses 6 to 8)

Oh God, my Father You ways are just, You are our avenger, You will raise us up from the pit, that others have dug for us to fall in. We need not file law -suits against our transgressors in order to seek retribution for You are going to fight the battle for us Amen.

9. These will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, 10. when he comes to be glorified by his saints and to be marveled at on that day among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.

(The First Chapter of the Second Letter of St.Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 1 verses 9 to 10)

Oh God, my Father how nice it would be for us to be united with all the saints in heaven in Your presence than cast away in eternal darkness forever and ever.

11. To this end we always pray for you, asking that our God will make you worthy of his call and will fulfill by his power every good resolve and work of faith, 12. so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

(
The First Chapter of the Letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians Chapter 1 verses 9 to 10)

Oh God my Father, I also ask of You to renew my faith and make me worthy of receiving You in my body and soul. I wish that You never leave me for a second, for I cannot live without You and Your love Amen.

I would like to end this chapter with the following prayer:-

Oh God, my Father it seems that our faith increases by testing and not by leading a quiet and pleasant life where nothing seems to happen. In persecution, You give us a shower of graces. I pray oh God for such graces so that during such moments You will continue to be my life-boat, my source of love and life Amen.
